The Ugly Side Of Democracy.....

Whenever I hear the word democracy I remember my civics period of class tenth in which we were taught that democracy is a form of government by the people, for the people and of the people. But I guess it is just the literal meaning of democracy and the truth speaks something else. We are conferred to as the largest democracy of world and yes we are proud of that. We never miss a chance to say this to the world as we always feel more satisfied by seeing other person lower than us. Are we doing things to keep to this reputation of being the largest democracy? Democracy is not just a word but a symbol representing your nation and if you ask of actions then yes there are but not in favour of a democratic nation but against it. The things happening in Maharashtra is a sinful act of few and taboo on India as a democratic nation.
And by remaining a dumb spectatator to this, I think it is not right to say India-a nation, instead we should always speak of India as a Group Of States rather than calling it a nation. There is vast differene in those two simple words. Nation is not just goup of states rather its a group of people living together but in differnt parts of the country. Hence the name given state, so that they could be ruled and taken care in good way. But when we talk about group of states, actually we are calling them citizens of state first and citizen of country latter. In short in case of states they are exclusive. And this is not good for a nation like India, where at every step the language changes and at the other culture and customs. If we want to remain as a country then we should respect each others customs or rituals or whatever there way of life is. In a country, every individuals has the right to express himself in the peaceful manner if he/she desire to. And if that right is not given to every Indian, then stop shouting about yourself being an Indian whose country is going to be a superpower by 2020- a dream, I fear will always be a dream. Stop saying that India is a great nation, rather say Gujrat or Maharashtra is a great state or whatever damn state you belong to and for me I will say Bihar is great. If this is case then don't even call yourself humans rather call yourself herd of beasts who are left to say whatever they want to and let there be jungle rule prevailing in India-a group of states. And if now after reading above you feel like slapping me, then congratualions! you are an Indian. I would love to hear that people who are reading this article of mine are not Marathis, Tamils or Bengali or Bihari but INDIANS..!
